Community Photo Shoot.

      I had this in my other journal and decided to put it here also as I like it.  It was taken in the late afternoon and I liked the way the corn fields looked.  This is typical Iowa countryside in the winter.

      I am honored to have received the first place price with my photo.  Thank you everyone.

With Valentine's day upon us this month, our next challenge was suggested by Betty.
Of course, this can be of anything that represents love.  There are many forms of love, so this should be an easy challenge. 
Love is all around us......so find it, capture it, or just use a photo from the past, that says it!


             I took this picture 7 years ago so it is not new for sure but it shows love.  My daughter in law with my new granddaughter.   When I worked in the nursery at the hospital we watched to see what type of eye contact parents made with their new baby.  It would give us a hint if there was a bonding issue.   This is the kind of eye contact we all loved to see.  It is not the best technical shot but I do like it.



    And just because her birthday is Valentines day, here is my grandaughter now.

   Not my house or anyones house that I know.  Aren't I terrible, just couldn't resist the shot.  It was so cold that day.  The firemen are hero's.

Next Sunday you can select one of two songs.  Or you can select both if you are ambitious.  Does anyone remember the Cowsills?  Don't ask me about them! I can simply tell you they were a family who sang together and I really loved this first song when I was a pre-teen ... errr, I meant when I was a BABY.  (you DO believe that, right?)

Hair (which they did a single but, it's also from the soundtrack Hair)

The idea is to get or take a photograph that you think would/could represent the title of the song.  If you want EXTRA KUDOS you can read the lyrics (click on the song title) and try to get/take a photograph that you feel would depict the meaning of the song.

JLand Photo Shoot

 

Thanks to all of you who played along last week.  We had our biggest turnout ever with 37 participating bloggers!  I hope you'll continue to play this week also, and that you will find this week's subject interesting. 

This week's JLand Photo Shoot will begin today (Monday) and is due on Saturday, Feb. 2, at 11 PM EST.  That's Saturday night for those of you who are getting confused!

You may interpret this any way you like.  Suggestions:  trees, people, antiques, etc.  

This week we are going to have a rule.  You can snap the photo this week, or you can pull out a photo that you have taken in the past.  But please make sure it is a photo that you have taken yourself, so you can showcase your photography.  That's the only rule.  Thanks so much!  :)

Dark Trees

into the shadows flitting and fleeting my fears hide
behind each tree who's shadow grows longer
with the setting sun while my fears grow
in length with creeping darkness
of evenings end.

my fearful imagination.
